The Lamborghini Diablo was a legendary sports car that defined the 90s era. Now, a new interpretation of this iconic vehicle is here, which has been reimagined for the modern age.

Meet the fully drivable Eccentrica V12, a limited-production restomod that puts together Diablo’s classic aesthetics with modern technology.

Eccentrica, a San Marino-based restomod manufacturer, showcased its latest creation at the prestigious The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering.

“The Eccentrica V12 is a personal passion project, born from my lifelong admiration for the Lamborghini Diablo. While I have such admiration for the original design, I wanted to enhance the driving experience,” said Emanuel Colombini, founder and president of Eccentrica.

Colombini added: “What you see here today is the result of our engineering team going to work to deliver a car that transcends the boundaries of what has previously been achievable in technology and performance. It’s a completely modern hypercar with the heart and soul of a ‘90s classic.”

    The Eccentrica V12 is powered by a 5.7-liter V12 engine derived from the early '90s Diablo. The engine delivers 550 horsepower and 600 Newton meters of torque, ensuring a thrilling driving experience. As compared to the original Diablo, the engine has a new 6-speed transmission. Moreover, the car features updated gear ratios and a power steering system. Altogether, this offers a significant upgrade over the first series Diablo for best performance and vehicle control.

    The new car has several enhancements to improve its overall performance, including new camshafts, an electronic throttle body, and an optimized flywheel. The Eccentrica V12 can reach an estimated top speed of 335kph (208mph), which is 10kph faster than the original Diablo.

    A blend of modern engineering and classic design, the Eccentrica has been designed with a reinforced chassis and advanced suspension. The chassis is constructed using composite materials. The modern version uses a double-wishbone suspension equipped with TracTive's active dampers to ensure exceptional handling and comfort.

    Among the other new features, include an advanced exhaust system. “It also incorporates a front axle lift system, ensuring a smooth and responsive ride for drivers. The vehicle is also equipped with an entirely new exhaust system developed by Capristo for a thrilling experience,” the press statement noted.

    The Eccentrica V12 is equipped with a state-of-the-art BREMBO braking system. These are said to be the company’s first-ever matte-painted calipers. This advanced braking system provides superior stopping performance, guaranteeing maximum safety on the road. Furthermore, its exceptional performance is further complemented by the Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R tires. The tires offer improved road-holding, resulting in enhanced grip, security, and the ability to achieve higher speeds. It has custom-made 19-inch rims, which are made from lightweight aluminum alloy. The rims are also lighter.

    With only 19 models planned for production, each meticulously crafted to meet the owner's specific preferences, the Eccentrica V12 guarantees “exclusivity and uniqueness.” The first deliveries are scheduled to begin in the summer of 2025.
