ROV, deep sea exploration and recovery legend.Curt Newport is a pioneering expert in remotely operated vehicles (ROVs), having over 4000 hours of piloting across major global waters. As Assistant Project Manager at Phoenix International, Inc., his notable missions include salvaging Air India Flight 182, the Space Shuttle Challenger, and TWA 800, as well as broadcasting live images of the RMS Titanic.
He led the historic recovery of the Liberty Bell 7 Mercury spacecraft from 16,043 feet deep. Newport also searched for the USS Indianapolis, discovered the deepest wooden shipwreck, and participated in numerous high-profile expeditions.
